The giant in Drama Centre

Seated sloughed against the sun bleached bench, ideas for the inaugural project aka installation art 101 took shape. Putting together discarded doors, windows, shelves and wire meshes can be our forte and we can turn that into a unique structure that showcases our shows- past, present and future. We are not a swanky company on any account but like the solid wood doors that I can barely lift up with two hands, we aren’t all about appearances either.

We marvel at the scale of this project, and worried incessantly especially the weeks leading to the start of our 26-show saga, and roped in a talented and quirky intern. When it finally stood tall and proud in the middle of the Drama Centre, we glowed with pride. Rudimentary this installation piece may be, but hardly nascent our credentials are. An important objective of this structure is to showcase our eclecticism, to stand side-by-side not in tandem overshadowed by our big shows. We are our shows and more.

In the end, the installation piece stands for our value and our thrifty nature. That art can jump and speak to you without a polished exterior. We are about possibilities.

Come Sunday we will move out of the Drama Centre and installation art 101 will take a reprieve in our storeroom before taking a new shape in our next show.

Do come and see us.
