Hi XYC
Didn’t go for Chong Feng 6! Over-spend watching Jacky Cheung’s concert! Haha… I am his fan!!! Are you going to catch the latest performance “Dou Shi Dang Bing Re De Huo”? Ric is the male lead!!! I don’t know if I can make it! I went to MusicDreamers’ Cafe last last Saturday & LiLian was recommending it!!! BTW can you give me your email again? Thanks.

Plus my MacBook’s HDD died… that puts me away from the net for awhile…
Still trying to sort things out after my HDD crashed… so many data gone… no backups… so am pretty stressed trying very hard to put things back together…
Anyways, it is nice to be back!
Cheers,

As expected…the Blog will cool down after the 17 shows are over….and most back BZ with their other working lifes…..
Maybe few of us can continue the chat to keep this Blog active?
Always love to make new friends and especially with you guys who also love and support Xin Yao

Back for a visit… so quiet…
September 10th, 2007 at 12:09 am
agree with ~not so young~…
September 9th, 2007 at 10:17 pm
Great, glad to hear that u guys are working on the OST, really looking forward to it.
As I was mentioning about the 2009 show, I am hoping that the story can just not focus on romance, but can have a balance on family, friendship and Singapore, the society we all live in. I think Wenfu’s songs have a good mix of these elements….. 1987….. I’m sure the audience wouldn’t mind sitiing for another half hour more.
September 9th, 2007 at 5:55 pm

Hi Ric
Heehee… Ok lah… you are the quiet one lor…Actually I think all 3 very noisy, I heard you all on the radio interview sometime back on 972, I think??? Hosted by … …:p (On a personal note, maybe you can ask your missus on that name I mentioned to you. I am not sure if you have seen him before but I think he mentioned he has met both of you!:p Sorry ah… Pai-Seh! Just wanted to make sure TP Tay not making up stories otherwise…8o|)
And… and… I am waiting… waiting for OST…
And… and… I hope this website will continue till 2009! It will be very interesting!
September 9th, 2007 at 12:08 pm
Yeah…it brings back our memories of the then Xin Yao era. Wonder how come now there seems to be no news of any further Xin Yao related concerts. Couple years back, there were those “Zhou Guo Shui Yue De Ri Zi” concerts with Love972 being part of the organising station and subsequently, “Chong Feng” where Xin Yao and Ming Yao were presented togather. Still missed those concerts. I believed I attended all less maybe one or 2 which I was not aware of.
Ric – Still looking forward to the OST
September 9th, 2007 at 10:46 am
Hi Teresa,
You are so welcome.

I am really the quiet one in Dreamz FM then!
Sorry, I don’t think I know TP Tay… maybe if I see his face.
September 9th, 2007 at 1:01 am
XinYaoCrazy & not so young… I guess the impact of the musical is so great that it has caused us to be back here sharing about our thoughts. I feel that Mr Liang’s songs by themselves are already poems. To be able to put them together with music is yet another feat which had been a great success. Otherwise we would not have felt so much after watching the musical. I heard that there is going to be an OST over radio & am really looking forward to it!
Ric… thank you for taking time out to reply & share with us! BTW, your image really bluffed me… hahaha… from the beginning of DreamzFM till before the musical, have always thought you are the quiet one! Looks like the exact opposite!!! Hahaha… And Ric, do you know Tay Tuan Pang or TP Tay?

September 8th, 2007 at 5:39 pm

William,
Thank you for your faith in this musical and all the support from Old Chang Kee!
September 8th, 2007 at 2:58 am
On behalf from all at Old Chang Kee, we thank you each and everyone that had contributed to the success of this Musical. I look forward to see all of you in 2009. Liang Wen Fu, your songs will always be in our hearts. The cast and crew well done and thanks for the memories!
September 7th, 2007 at 9:47 pm
Hi not so young,
Thank you for supporting us and Wenfu!
I think you will be happy to know that we are now working very hard to make sure the OST is possible, and it does require a fair bit of work and time to prepare and launch it in a quality that we will be proud of. So do bear with us as we get this done.
We will be posting the development of the OST on this blog when it gets onto the next stage. So do keep your fingers crossed and stay tuned!
September 7th, 2007 at 9:19 pm
I’m Liang Wenfu’s fan. I started to collect his books since my school days and 听着他的歌长大. He is really a very talented person who is quite rare in Singapore. I confessed that it was because of Liang Wenfu that I went to watch this muscial. It was an excellent show though a little “technical problem” happened during the 1 Sep afternoon show. I was very impressed with George’s performance as I did not know that he can speak and sing Mandarin so well. The songs in the musical really brought many fond memories which touched my heart and make me misty-eye. I hope that the 2009 show can include more of Liang Wenfu’s songs cos I missed some of the songs and I find it a waste of not “promoting” those good songs to the younger audience out there. I hope there is OST cos I would like to listen again to the rearrangment of the songs which is very different from the original. See you in 2009.
September 5th, 2007 at 5:23 pm
Supposed to be “After Tian Leng Jiu Hui Lai” …
September 5th, 2007 at 5:22 pm
Same here Teresa, from my nick you can see how much I like Xin Yao. Just wondering will there be any more Xin Yao related concerts or musical events after ? :O
September 4th, 2007 at 11:59 pm
I saw the performance on 8/25. Frankly it was really because of Liang Wern Fook & Xin Yao that I wanted to see the performance. This is my first time watching a local Chinese musical performance, hence I was thrilled & excited! It didn’t disappoint me except for certain parts where I had to hold my breath when some of the performers were trying to hit the high notes in their singing. But from the very beginning to the end of the performance, my heart was felt with warmth. All those XinYao songs reminded me of my school days. If tears was not flowing down my cheeks, my eyes were definitely welled up with tears. One thing I must comment is that our very own local performers have a speciality, that is being Bilingual in English & Mandarin, hence watching this performance has a very “homely” feel! Before I saw this performance, I am not sure if there were any other overseas productions that feature Bilingual languages in their performances. I just felt that this is something to be proud of & applaud for… Looking forward to 2009!

Hi Ric , I think it is a good idea to conduct a workshop session every 2 months for the everyone to continue to keep in touch on the latest happening and also keep everyone stay fit for the 2009 show . At least everyone can continue practicing their role and by 2009 everybody can be as good as anyone ..It will be the biggest hit in town with when the day come …

Watched the show on 1st September 8pm slot. Really enjoyed and caught my heart. Well done to all actors and actresses. Used to attend almost every Xin Yao concerts I happened to know and missed those days where such concerts…hardly see any more. Looking forwards for the 天冷就回来 2009
September 4th, 2007 at 2:02 pm
September 4th, 2007 at 12:42 pm
September 3rd, 2007 at 4:25 pm

Watched it twice and love it. My sis, whom i seldom spoke with, caught it after my strong recommendation. Now, we camn’t stop discussing about it! I rememmber I was so touched that my eyes were welling practically throughout the musical. Was so embarassed. But I stop controlling when I saw the man sitting in front of me constantly wiping away his tears. I knew I was not the only one touched. Great job, the entire crew. The songs were aptly chosen and sang at the right moments. The stage setting was original and realistic. The general crew, though you have no lines, did really well. There were times I found myself focusing on them rather than the leads. George was awsome. His singing took my breathe away, not to mention oh-so-broad shoulders. Rose was like a breathe of fresh air. Everytime she appears, she lits up the stage. My favourite part of the musical? When Sebastian and Zhanlun sang “Rang Ye Qing Qing Luo Xia” together. Utterly stunning, the collaboration. Seamless. I love Seasons!

Great Show n well done to all; Cast, Crew, Musicians etc…I’m very happy to have watched it twice n like many others, would be even happier if e DVD n OST are made available. If they do, I will hold a ‘viewing’ party for friends who didn’t manage to get tickets. By 2009, there will be more who wanna watch it; me included of cos. My heart was pounding when the ‘accident’ happened during the 2.30pm show on 1/9 cos there was a shout n crash. Glad to know no one got hurt. Time for a well deserved break. Hope it will be the same cast in 2009.
Ps: Hope the goodies (chocs n biscuits) were enough for all on 17/8. Cast/Crew was bigger than I thought. Hope they didn’t contribute to any lost of voice. I’m sorry if they did.

What’s the song title that George Chan aka Ah Le sang on stage? Is it ‘Take me on a song’? Can you guyz please post the lyrics? Thanks!
September 2nd, 2007 at 6:39 pm
Hi,
I watched the afternoon show yesterday and it was simply good! It’s my first time watching a chinese musical and I was pleasantly surprised by the strong cast, good acting and vocals…. done with a twist so that people, even youngsters can relate to it…. and all the songs fit in so perfectly! Great job, guyz! Only thing lacking is a OST with songbooks and lyrics… and perhaps a live recording vcd to go with it….. sure it’ll b snapped up by fans who have watched the show and will wanna bring the experience back home!

Hi Yilin
Hehe. Nice guess. Ya 你酷 was not in the compilation CDs but you’re wrong….
My fav is 秋心赋, the song when Ah Le and Rose (Cat) first met. very 诗情话意 song….
September 2nd, 2007 at 1:04 am
Absolutely awesome show! was very touching, i think my eyes were wet almost all through. would love to watch it again but the tickets are ALL SOLD OUT. cool. almost flawless singing from all cast, loved 一步一步来 and AhQiang’s solo singing scene. unexpected twist with the ahqiang-ahqiang relationship, but it was good.
can only say, I’m definitely looking forward to 2009, and the soundtrack if theres any!
September 1st, 2007 at 10:28 pm
My heartiest congratulations to the cast and crew of If There’re Seasons for a job so fantastically well done!
George, Sebastian, Joanna, Magdalene, Ric and company, you all were great! As were the musicians, technicians and backstage crew, thank you for making the experience complete for me!
A touching storyline, coupled with the creatively rearranged songs, left everyone in the audience something to identify with. From Ah Le’s reminiscing of his days with Xiao Jing, his process of finding new love, Ah Qiang’s love for another with the same name to Cheng Shu’s broken dreams, all contributed to making the story feel more personable.
The Xinyao songs were superb and I do hope that an OST is in the pipeline(pls?) because that will satisfy alot of fans out there. And that’s coming from someone who watched the show twice!
Here’s to lookiing forward to 2009, when Seasons comes back to enchant us again.

Hey Minhui, let me hazard a guess. Is your favourite song
My (current) favourite is the one from the Ah Le and Rose quarrel scene.
Cheers
September 1st, 2007 at 1:47 pm
Rally hope there will be a soundtrack. my fav song from the musical is not in all the Liang Wen Fu’s CDs… :’(
I’ve seen the musical twice and still loved it! But take care of your voices, dunno if it is due to fatigue, but some of the cast do not sound as good as the preview show… Jia You!
Looking forward to 2009….

Your energy n passion will be with us on stage my friend
September 1st, 2007 at 10:28 am
Hi guys,
For your today performances I wish you all the best and since the tension from the beginning is gone, maximum fun by being the story and living your characters for the second last day.
How I wish to join you but all I can do is to pop in shortly for the night show to get a fraction of the excitement off-stage.
So, even physically I’m not there I am with you all the time. Look at the very far right corner in the mans room. Can see me?

Hi Lapple,
“Tech“ seats or “Production“ seats are certain seats reserved usually for the techincal or admin personnel of the show. You can go to Drama Centre and look for the Theatre Practice staff about 1 hour in advance to the show to check availability.
Good Luck!

To all the wonderful crews of It There’re Seasons.
I watched the show yesterday, it was awesome!!! Bravo to all… especially George and Joanna. I am really impressed. Thought of going back to watch again next week but too bad SOLD OUT! Anyway, congrates.
This is my first time watching a chinese musical show with my “eat potato” husband.
See you all again in 2009.

Thank You Winnie, for all your positive energy and support!
Am glad you are able to “join” in & have a good time with us too.
You are officially one of the witnesses to this history-making musical of Singapore!
I am really lucky and honored to be part of this musical. (Thank you Alvin & Jian Hong for casting me!)
While I was enjoying myself rehearsing and acting in this musical, I don’t know it will be sooo popular and successful in the box office and with the audiences. These are wonderful surprises for me! And whatever it is, I always have faith in this musical, because there is real Passion & Love in it. I mean it, many of us are so passionate about it, it will not fail!
YES! Sebastian has gotten his voice back.
August 29th, 2007 at 12:15 am
Warmest Congrats to entire crew of seasons !!! Here’s a BIG CHEERS To ALL.Very glad that so many audience love and enjoy this performance as much as me. Yes , we belong to this special era whereby we grew up with this songs.Thats why we have so much ‘feel’Managed to share with my colleagues how touching the show was and they will be going for it in the next few days. Its a pity I can’t get any more tickets to watch it again. 非常期待天冷的原声带,加油!Ric,great job and glad that you enjoyed being part of this ever popular and successful musical
PS : Has Sebastian got his voice back ,;p? He seemed to be missing out on this wonderful BLOG totally.

August 27th, 2007 at 11:00 pm
。。 。。伤心
August 27th, 2007 at 5:30 pm
A really wonderful performance … hope to see more great performances in time to come.
加油!
August 27th, 2007 at 4:51 pm

It was my first chinese musical that i watched. I must say, i’m plesantly surprised and moved by the performance. The style adopted by this musical has a good fusion of western and eastern theatre styles. The performances of Joanna, George, Sebastian and Shieh Yih were of master class! Especially loved the moves of Joanna, her slick cat moves and the burning hot ones in the pub were terrific.
A pity the changing of scenes were a tad too long, it interrupted the emotions being aroused in the audience.
Overall, the musical is bursting with energy – kudos to all the cast and crew. Fantastic energy level that is maintained throughout! =)

August 27th, 2007 at 12:43 pm
August 27th, 2007 at 11:12 am
The overwhelming responses are so unexpected, so encouraging. I’m thankful to be part of it. Somebody mentioned “喜欢那……现场伴奏的乐队”, i definitely will pass this message to them. It’s entirely a different world down there.
August 27th, 2007 at 10:53 am
I saw the performance yesterday afternoon. I must say, I am really touched. Not only by the story, not only by the music, also by the effort made by everyone – the cast, props, crew.
When I told my friend about how touch I am, she mentioned she notice some of the audience was wiping tears off their face.
Will there be a soundtrack for this musical? I am sure it would be a sold out too! I will be one of the first to buy it!
I do hope to see another play like this soon. I look forward to the next one!
August 26th, 2007 at 12:27 pm
I watched the performance last night. Loved it so much that I’m thinking of watching it again! But too bad the tickets are sold out already.
Loved all the casts, esp George and Joanna. Their voices are so awesome!!! And so nice to hear all those songs by 梁文福. Hope the soundtrack will be out soon, not gonna miss it!
August 26th, 2007 at 3:11 am
The very 1st Chinese musical which i’ve watched and i’m totally moved by the voices of Ah Le & Rose. Rose really caught my attention from her very first scene of her imitation of a cat..and Ah Le’s voice just made me melt.
Do come up with the soundtrack soon ya?
August 26th, 2007 at 12:25 am
超赞!it was truly 一级棒的演出!the BESTEST musical I’ve ever watched!
Super感动loh!I didn’t feel half as emotional at Ms Saigon or 雪。狼。湖 and at last night’s performance I literally cried buckets from Scene 1. Fantastic voices of the cast, familiar songs that brought back memories… *sniff sniff*
Nice twist to the story was A-Qiang and A-Qiang.. 吓死我了!but i must admit my first reaction was to murder the person who made my 中学时代的偶像GAY! Ha! Really would have liked to hear him sing his 《如果你不小心想起我》. And really superly-duperly love Rose and A-Le’s voices!!!
Mr. To is a GENIUS! He managed to string Mr. Liang’s songs together into the story and 《深拥》has always been a personal favourite!
Look forward to another fantabulous production, the OST of 《天冷就回来》perhaps? =)
August 25th, 2007 at 10:25 pm
Well done!!
I watched it this afternoon. I love it! I like the songs.. the dances.. the stage (especially the big branch @ graveyard =P)..
The story was so touching yet humorous at times. I enjoyed it =D However, I found Ah Qiang’s love story was a bit out of place.. The live music was really GREAT!! But, sometimes the drum was too loud.. became a noise to me =D could’t enjoy the sweet voices from the performers. Oh ya, a scene in the pub, when the 4 guys sang on the pub’s stage.. how I wish they sang a cappella.. it would be much nicer… Hmmm… that’s all! Hee… =”D
Overall, guys… u’ve done a wonderful job! Keep it up!
I’m looking forward to ur next musical (o^_^o)v Cheers!
August 25th, 2007 at 10:08 pm
This is the first time I watched a chinese musical, I am very impressed and delighted to hear all the wonderful songs blended so well with the story. Thank you for the great performance! I hope it can be shown to other countries as well.
August 24th, 2007 at 11:43 pm
hi guys! keep up the good work!
i loved the preview show so much that i’m going to watch it for the second time next week! =)
August 24th, 2007 at 11:40 pm
August 24th, 2007 at 5:28 pm

After reading all your messages, I am really touched by all the encouragements and praises. Hope that we will continue to improve ourselves, presenting the best for the audiences and friends who truly support us throughout the performances. Thank you again for all of you who came for the show. Really appreciate it!

。加油!
August 23rd, 2007 at 1:04 am
i just watched it too! high 5!..actually last night..=)
I grew up with these songs and hearing them now, in the remix form is so refreshing and yet, so nostalgic..the script’s really well woven with the songs, but i must say however, there are moments of “erm….”, just cause the break’s too long or too cheesy.
But nonetheless…well done!! love the music, love the singing and love the energy!
August 23rd, 2007 at 12:35 am
I am more a fan of English musicals but when news came out that George Chan and Sebastian Tan is starring in this musical, I immediately jio my friend to come and watch this Chinese musical for the very first time.
I watched the 22th Aug sell out show and I must say this is a very very good local production with memorable songs that blended well with the storyline. The dance choreography was also excellent. The 2 leading actors have brought their Broadway experience to produce a stunning performance once again!!! Joanna (Rose)also shine with her touching voice, how I wish she can sing without the music during the show for a longer period!!! The only drag in the show is the long periods of scene changes as it cuts the mood of the audience very quickly. But nonetheless this is a very good musical and I can see all the actors\actresses, young and old giving their very best!!! Singapore can be proud that we have a pool of talents to produce high quality and entertaining musicals. All of you deserve another round of applause!!! Bravo Bravo!!!

Watched today’s matinee. Am really excited about the whole thing such that I am getting 2 more tickets for my mum & sis PLUS I will watch it again next week. (Really loved the production or I won’t be on this website to search for more information)
George, didn’t know how you pulled off the whole thing (cos the idea of you and Chinese songs simply didn’t gel) – you were great.
Joanna, you were fantastic and a joy to watch!
Casting was great and except for a few blips here & there, I was really really impressed.
So, THANK YOU to everyone on and behind stage for the wonderful production. Take care of yourselves (and your voices) and I’ll see you on stage next week.
xoxo

Congratulations to the whole cast and team behind this most awesome production! I have initially expected a mediocre performance, but i was blown away after the first few songs (u can imagine my jaw-dropping expression
this is one of the rare few shows that has brought tears for me; that really made me proud of part of the xinyao generation; that really made me proud to say Mr Liang Wenfu is one of the best S’porean brands (take note, STB! this is definitely uniquely singapore!) etc.
Awesome cast!! Everything CAN sing here… I have sent out a sms blast to my friends to catch this SHOW of the year…please send me an email once the soundtrack is out! Congratulations again!

Great show! it is a wonderful tribute to Mr Liang Wenfu. really is singapore’s caizi!
Think he is pretty thrilled by the end product. was clapping vry enthusiatically throughout the whole show, esp for those whom (i guess) he felt had performed his songs exceptionally well.
Terrific singing by the little boy who sang waipo qiao! i am so super impressed. not forgetting cheng shu and the dishwasher lady! marvellous performance by them! oso chen shuling, caught her in a few other musicals, her performance never fails to impress me! =)
all in all, a BIG thank you to everyone (on stage and behind) for such a memorable evening. Good luck for the rest of the performances!
