Mr. William Lim, CEO of Old Chang Kee shares his thoughts on Old Chang Kee’s partnership with The Theatre Practice to present the sold out Singapore Chinese musical, ‘If There’re Seasons…’

Q. What inspired Old Chang Kee to renew the partnership with The Theatre Practice for If There’re Seasons…?
A. After the first run in 2007 we were very happy with the response and so we felt that this was an opportunity to bring our partnership to the next level whilst continuing to support the local arts scene.

Q. We heard that you (William) came to watch rehearsals in The Theatre Practice during the 2007 run. What was the experience like for you?
A. Actually witnessing and experiencing the hard work of the actors and the whole crew was such an incredible experience for me, I am such a fan of the musical so to have had the opportunity to actually see what went on behind the scenes was such a pleasure and a really enriching experience. It really made me proud to be associated with this production.

Q. We know you (William) enjoyed the musical very much in 2007 and will be watching it again when it opens this year. Do you have any thoughts about the show to share with our audience this year?
A. The show is really all about an excellent story put across to the audience in the form of music. This blend brings out the values of the show, which in essence is about love beyond death, friendships that go the distance, and dreams that find their way home. If you miss the first run do not miss it again.

I maintain 1 copy of each of my stories because I require to know which magazine has rejected or accepted every story. What you are actually promoting is Very first British Copyright. The story belongs to you, even though here I’d recommend that promoting the same story to numerous magazines is a little impolite in that each magazine wants to be individual and various. Imagine the disappointment of an editor to find that competing magazines have the same story.
